I was wondering what bedtime routine everyone is following. I am currently doing bath, pj's, bottle and bed. But I was just reading that giving a bottle to get baby to sleep is a negative sleep association and you shouldn't do it if you want baby to learn how to fall asleep on his own. My LO is usually asleep by the end of the bottle, i rock him a little then put him down with the paci. When he wakes up in th middle of the night he isnt able to go backto sleep on his own, i either have to feeed him of give him the paci. So just curious what everyone does and how it's working for them.
Re: Bedtime routines
He's 3months. I was thinking of just switching it around and giving hi his bottle right before his bath then bed. So it would be 15-30 min tops before he goes to bed
Here is what we have been doing since DS was about a month old.
Bath (every other night)
Diaper
Lotion
PJs
Bottle
Then if he is still wide away we read him a story.
We used to have to rock him, but now we can just put him down and he soothes himself to sleep.
My Pedi says right around 4 months is when babies start to develop habits (good and bad). Until DS is alittle older we will give him a bottle right before bed. We try not to let him fall asleep on the bottle, I think that is what they are refereing to as bad behavior. He doesn't fall asleep on the bottle during the day (the only exception to this is if he has refused to nap for hours, but needs a bottle...I still try not to let him fall asleep ON the bottle when this is the case).
this is exactly what we do. I will continue doing this until we don't have the night time bottle, which will be awhile. This bedtime routine works GREAT for us.

This is us too. There's no way I could get my two to sleep if we're 90 minutes+ past a feeding.
