My little guy popped his very first tooth hes almost 6 months. I am looking for suggestions on how to make him feel better. I have the baby tynelo for when hes really hurting and fussy, I have the frozen/cold teethers but he doesnt seem to like them. I have infant orajel. If anyone could think of anything else I could do I'd appreciate it. Also I thought this was pretty early for teething if its not should I be expecting him to pop more soon or is this most likely a one off. I'm a FTM and I could use some experienced help.
Re: Teething already
Not unusual. K has the bottom 2 already. My son had 12 teeth by the time he was 1. He didn't like any traditional teethers, but he loved Sophie (expensive but worth it for us!)
I've found ibuprofen works better but until your 6m pedi appointment stick with Tylenol.
I've had good luck with the mesh feeders. I do breastmilk popsicle ice cubes and now that she's on solids we do frozen bananas, peaches, peas, or really any frozen cubes of puree (whatever baby likes). We have these ones: https://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-Pack-Fresh-Feeder-Colors/dp/B000GK5XY2
Also, orajel is kind of not recommended anymore - there are some scary links between it numbing the throat and babies choking. Maybe it's ok during the day while you can keep an eye out but I just wouldn't use it at night. (we've never used it)
Thanks for telling me about the orajel I didnt know that my MIL just got it to help us out. I really appreciate it
no problem - I don't want it to come off all fear-mongering, it's one of those things that some people feel comfortable with the risks (which are very low) and others aren't. I would just suggest people do their own research on it. Obviously it's still on the market so plenty of people use it, our pedi just recommended against.
My Cousin and sister in law rave about these teething tablets, I believe called Humphreys. You can place under tongue -hard for a little one or disolve in teaspoon water and rum on teeth.
I got a different brand and they don't work as well so I'm going to get this brand asap and try it.
My son had his first tooth at 4 months. Now at 6 months he has two bottom teeth with more coming in!
I have been using this strawberry teether and it works well for him. He didn't like the other teething rings I tried. This one was much easier to fit in his mouth:

I asked my pedi about gels and stuff but they do not recommend any. Just teething rings and tylenol if he really needs it.
ETA: I got the strawberry teether at Babies R Us.
probably Hylands... You can also buy teething gel at whole foods, etc that is more natural and safe.
We use Humphreys teething tablets. DD cut her bottom teeth at just under 5 months old. We've only used them a couple of times before bed, but they seem to help her when she's really fussy. It's much easier rubbing a little of that on her gums than trying to get her to swallow any tylenol!
My LO got her 2 lower bottom teeth in at 4months. Just give tylenol and use teething tablets. They melt as soon as they go on their tongue. They work like a charm
Good Luck!
