new behavior in DD, a phase?

DD is pretty independent. For the first 10 weeks of her life, she actually hated being held. She'd cry when held her and then stop as soon as we'd lay her down. Since then she's been really easy going, content to sit in her bouncy seat, swing, jumperoo, whatever and play. For the past 3 days she's been super clingy. She cries as soon as we put her down. If we're not holding her, she's crying. They said she's acting the same way at daycare. Unless she's being held, she's crying. Yesterday she took a 20 minute nap at daycare and that was it. No other naps : (

Last week she was sick and was on a course of antibiotics for 10 days. I'm assuming that killed the infection, but the way she's acting, I'm not sure... She has her 6 month well check tomorrow, so we'll have the pedi check everything out. Just wondering if this is normal. Is it separation anxiety? A normal clingy phase? Anyone else going through something like this?

    My DD just became super clingy too. And only naps when I nap with her, am holding her or wearing her in a sling. I think its a phase. Some ppl have told me this is the age for clinging. Im chalking it up to teething.

    My DD has been clingy too lately. She stops playing and scoots over to me and starts to try to climb up me. She never used to do that. I used to be able to put her in her crib for bed and naps and she would fall asleep on her own but now I have to rock her until she falls asleep. At her 6 month check up the pedi said that its normal for this age and that it is separation anxiety.

    I hope it's a phase bc my LO has been the SAME way! She also had an ear infection and was on antibiotics for 10 days.  the 20th she'll be 6 months.  Hates to be laying down, clingy w/ me and the babysitter but cries when Dad holds her.  I am praying its a phase because it sucks!

    yup, DS did the same thing. And he's especially clingy at night.

    We are going through the same thing. DS is 6 months too and super super clingy lately. Especially at night when I try to put him in the crib and when I drop him off at day care.

    My DS is doing this. I actually could have written this post myself. He went from not wanting to be touched to wanting to be held all the time. He's also fighting naps now and its a hassle to get him down. I'm crossing my fingers its just a phase! He's been teething pretty hard lately so I guess it could have to do with that. I really hope we're getting close to cutting a tooth.
