Have a 'happy' to report. Our 4yr old, with Fragile X, autism & ADHD goes to preschool 4 days a week. I drop him off every day, then go to work and a combo of hubby, mom & babysitter pick him up so I don't get to hear 1st hand how his morning went. The last hour of each morning is spent with the Spec Ed teacher and she is good about writing in his notebook.
He is non-verbal, but knows over 100 signs and is starting to attempt some words. Anyway, yesterday his teacher wrote 'We are having great conversations about 'train' and 'Percy.' Does Santa know this?' I just teared up. See, he knows the sign for train, but is vocalizing what sounds like 'ercy' for 'Percy' and she got it!!!! She understood him. I of course wrote a note back saying how happy I am that she understands him, since I never know how much anyone else truly does.
