We want to get DD a Kindle Fire HD or an iPad either the mini or a refurbished 2nd generation for Christmas. She will be three in February. I know it seems like a big gift for a three year old, but DH and I will use it a lot as well as our laptop that we keep in the living room downstairs is on its last leg. If you have either or were trying to decide between the two, what are the pros and cons of each? I want it for movies, music, games, and the camera and photos. If we get the iPad, we will probably get the Fisher Price apptivity kid case. Does anyone know of a good kid case for the Kindle Fire HD? TIA!
Re: Kindle Fire HD vs iPad
I would never get an ipad or Kindle for even my 7 yo, but that is me. They get enough exposure to electronics w/o having their own. But... that is another discussion.
I think the ipad is better and I have the kindle fire.
I have an iPad2 and honestly, DS uses it more than me particularly when we are out and need to keep him occupied like during the other kids' ballgames, ect. I have the Trident Kraken case on it and it has been dropped on the cement multiple times at ballgames and is in perfect condition.
