Our department just got a $500 Harry and David gift basket. Score! Problem is, I am munching on it all day long. I feel so unproductive. I'm obsessing over chocolate-covered blueberries and Moose Munch. Anyone else?

I work for a public state university. No one is allowed to send us anything, even if they wanted to. We can hardly give anything to coworkers. There are so many rules about what the occasion is, if it's a gift card or money, etc. The joys of being a state employee...

This. However, I do get gifts from the kids every year and every once in awhile I will get a really nice card or note from a parent telling me how much their kid loves music and how happy they are to have me as a teacher. It's nice to be reminded every once in awhile of why I do what I do.

We get nothing here too, all the gifts get sent to the medical centers. Oh well, its probably better that way.

I used to at my last job.December was chocolate filled! We got a lot of popcorn tins, too.

Apparently there were some holiday treats from a consultant on Monday, but I was out with a sick baby. I also missed the client pizza lunch a few weeks ago because I had to leave early.
