Honda CRV question

I mentioned in my other post that we are looking at a CRV. If you have one, how well do you carseat/s fit. I would ideally like to have an infant carseat in the middle and Js britax boulevard behind the driver seat if/when we have 2 kids.
I used to be a big deal.  Now I'm just old.

Re: Honda CRV question

  • I have had no issues with my  two seats- however I never placed either of my kids in the middle position.  The rear seats do slide forward/back to allow extra room.

  • We have a 2007 and Honda updated the CRV somewhat for this past model year.  So, we have the prior model to the current one.  However, we love it!  Since we only have C, we have his Britax Blvd RF in the middle with no issues.  We had his Keyfit30 there too with no problems.  I would note that the middle position is still slightly off-center so it pushes up against the back of the passenger seat a bit.  I have the passenger seat all the way back so I would assume this would mean it would fit comfortably behind the driver seat as well, but we've never tried it.  I do like it particularly b/c it is one of the few vehicles that actually allows for a true LATCH use in the middle position for our model year and carseat.  We actually like it so much that we'll probably trade my Civic in for a used CRV.

  • The one we are looking at is a 2005, I'll have to check if it has latch in the center.  I would love to be able to put J in the center RF right now.  We haven't been able to use the front passenger seat in my car since we put the Britax in. :P  Lrn327 - that is funny that we had the same infant car seat and now have the same convertible. lol  I am actually hating the Boulevard these days, the cold weather makes the straps impossible to tighten.  So maybe if I can't make it fit I'll just get a different seat!

Ha, too funny!  Weren't you the one that said you felt like it takes you forever to tighten the straps?  Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but OMG, I feel like I'm always the last person so leave the parking lot!  I still love his seat, nice and safe, but goodness!

The 2005 would be two prior model styles (it changed in 2012 and 2007).  We had that one too and really liked it, but just a heads up that it does feel a bit more truck/SUV-like.  That was harder for me b/c I prefer the car feel but we both still really liked it.  I don't know about the carseat setup b/c we didn't have C then but the interior did feel a bit more spacious (it's a bit boxier if that makes sense) and it has a cool lift gate that opens from the side (better for loading imho) and a nifty pop-out table in the trunk!  It also had better storage than our current one (lots of hidden drawers and such).

  • We have a 2007 also and I drive my 2 nieces and Liam around in it periodically. I've fit Liam's seat RF in the middle (Evenlfo triumph-tightens on the side so it is easy), an infant seat behind the driver (haven't tried it here in the base but it fits with the seatbelt) and a booster for an older child behind the passenger (an adult can fit here too for a short ride). I've also used a narrow convertible seat FF behind the driver but next to the RF seat and it works too. I haven't tried moving the RF seat so I'm not sure how it would fit behind the driver.
