February 2012 Moms

anyone else?

Lately, my little guy has been going to bed VERY late. I'm sayin 1011 he usually admits to being tired and goes to sleep.
I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem?
By the time he goes to bed, I'm ready to hit the hay myself with virtually no time to myselfor hubs
Please reassure me this is a phase. Tell me it will be okay again, and he'll start going to bed 89 like he used to

Oh, and Ftr, he doesn't STTN, only when he feels like bein gentle on me.
I'm tiiiiired!

Do hyphens show up for you guys? I can't see them on mobile.

Re: anyone else?

  • Is he waking up later or changing his nap schedule?

  • I've been able to link the lack of sleeping to teething. Ian usually goes to bed around 7:30 or 8. There have been a few days in a row here and there that he won't go to sleep until 9 or 10 and then he was waking up after about an hour and a half. He'd go back to sleep after about 30mins. This behavior was not like him at all. Probably a week or so after this, a tooth, or two, would pop out. So, that's what's going on with our non sleeping issue. I don't know it to be technically related, but seems like it might be, for us anyway.

  • Hayley goes to bed about 9:30 - 10. But she always went to bed kinda late. She seems tired around 8-8:30 some nights but she wont go down if we go that early. Not sure if it's a phase. Any new milestones lately that he would want to stay up and practice longer?

Hmm.. yeah he has actually..the past couple of days he's been taking 2 longer naps. He used to take 1 long one and 2 shorter ones.
He's never been set on a specific schedule, I just let him sleep naturally. He decides his schedule and its pretty consistent when he figures out what he wants to do.

    I don't believe he's teething.

I learned he could walk with me just the other day. He might be trying to hold a standing position independently. I haven't considered that!

  • We don't really have a set schedule, either. The way I figure out naps is awake for 3 hours, nap, wake for 3 hours, nap, awake for 4 hours, bed. Bedtime usually falls between 8:30 and 9:30. The nights that she goes to bed later are either because our napping schedule shifted or she isn't feeling well and something is bothering her. Your LO could be reaching a milestone, too, and just wants to be awake!
