Mommy fail...

So yesterday E and I were sitting at the table together. He was coloring on my lap while I was cutting coupons...perfect picture of domestic bliss. The phone rang so I got up and put E in the chair and stepped away. The phone was in the room and it was a wrong number so I was gone for like five seconds. When I turned around Evan was standing on the chair with the scissors held open out in front of him. I freak out and grabbed the scissors by the blade, startled him, and he took a MASSIVE hunk out of my finger!
Ugh. At that point he's crying because he gave mommy a booboo and I'm gushing blood. Sigh. At least it's me with the injury...

This happened with me while I was unloading the dishwasher... I turned my back to put away a plate or two for two seconds and turned around to see my two-year-old with a carving knife. HEART ATTACK!

This exact thing has happened in our house. O isn't allowed by the dishwasher anymore.

Yep. Baby with a steak knife has happened here as well! Hope your finger is better!

Oh my goodness! C always grabs at things immediately too. I used to put my chopping/steak knives in the dishwasher but don't at all now b/c he makes a beeline for them. So scary!

Glad I'm not the only one who's child does things like this. I'm okay thanks for asking. According to the nurse here I probably should have had a few stitches but he butterfly stitched me up and I'm good to go!
