Babies on the Brain

Windows 8

I hate it with a fiery passion. It is obnoxious and very difficult to use. Does anyone know how to turn off the stupid right side bar pop up thing?

Re: Windows 8

  • what themotherfuckingfuck!  A service pack to delete this crap!?  GRRRRRRRR. This is the last time I agree to upgrade to a new laptop.  I want to go back in time where electronic devices were simple. Can I have DOS back, please!? Ok, maybe Windows 98?  Hell, I am ok with XP.  Even VISTA.  I can't take this advanced stuff.  My brain hurts.

  • I need a PC to access work crap.  We only got this computer to use, since DH had to turn in his laptop when he changed jobs. I much rather use my iProducts.  Funny story. I need Windows Media Player for work.  My work programs are so old they don't recognize WMP.  I am back to square one.  I still can't access work sites, which is the main reason to get a windows OS.   SUCK IT WINDOWS!!!

Can you tell I am annoyed?

  • You are reaffirming my life long love of Macs. I fondly remember playing Oregon Trail on my Mac SE II as a kid. I hate it when I have to use a non-Mac computer.

  • The touch screen does make a difference.  That's what W8 was developed for. If there is still time in your 30 day thing, I would send it back and get W7....or a touch screen =)

We got a touch screen aio at work for me to learn W8.  I like it it but I can't imagine only using a mouse on it.  They also bought me a surface, but it won't be available until the middle of January.

I hate Windows 8 too. Both DH and my parents needed new computers over the last couple months, and he told them do whatever they had to do to make sure they got computers that were still Windows 7 compatible. I don't understand how to use it. I feel like an idiot trying to do simple things like opening the internet or shutting the computer down. Luckily we don't have to use it. DH just set up a virtual machine on our desktop so we could try it out, and we both agreed it sucks and we aren't upgrading.
My DH is a major computer nerd and complains constantly about Windows 8. He says it's really only meant for touch screen computers, otherwise it's a hassle. He needs a new laptop and tried to buy a Dell close out model with Windows 7 on black friday, but they sold out. Now he's on a frantic search to find something without windows 8.

^ the bolded.  Go back to Windows 7.  You'll be happy you did.
