So since Emma's birth in may I have been pumping my extra milk and donating it to our nearby NICU. I have always had an overproduction and made it more so with the use of fenugreek and tea. I really have enjoyed the ability to have plenty of extra, but u think we are coming to a point where I can no longer do this. I have been donating 150200 oz a month and putting 100 oz into my own stockpile. We do not use very much since I stay at home but I do add it to her food three times a day.
I think this was not only to help those with babies in the NICU, but also for me. With our two year old I never had a stockpile, and I always felt I didn't produce enough for her. Anyways long pointless post, sorry just working it out in my mind!

Re: I don't think I can do it anymore
Props to you for doing it as long as you have! That is awesome!!!
I like pp idea about sending one last donation with a Holiday card about your ending...
I deff look up to you for this, because when we have #2, I am going to look into pumping and donating...
GREAT JOB GIRL!!!
Just wanted to say that as a recipient of donated milk, we sure did appreciate it! In my case, we had a healthy to-term baby, but I wasn't able to breastfeed for long due to a previous surgery. One of our friends with a baby a few months older stepped in to help us, and while we still supplement with formula, it meant the world to me that I was able to give my baby some of the "good stuff." To be honest, I was pretty sad when we realized my own supply was so pitiful, and the happy tears I cried when my friend made her offer were a really nice counterbalance!
So, thank you for all your hard work!
