I send around 40 every year. Last year I realized that we only received about 10-15 from people. It has been like this for a few years. I can basically guess in August who we will get Christmas cards from each year. So this year I am sort of keeping track. Next year I will only send cards to people who send one to me.
I'm not trying to be petty, but cards are a PITA sometimes. For a few years I made my own (nightmare - I am so not crafty!) and now I imagine they will mostly be photo cards from here out.
I'm just wondering why so few people do cards?
Be honest....do you send cards?

I started doing them once DH and I were engaged. Last year we made sure everyone got one (it was our 1st christmas after getting married). But this year it was only our aunts/uncles/a few cousins who send to us/and friends. So basically - yes, if we got a card from them - we sent one. I sent out 40 but I have a feeling we are only getting 25...maybe 30 if we are lucky.
My cousins always pass theirs out at christmas...kinda drives me nuts! I hang them up and I don't hang theirs cuz I'm ready to just about take them down by then!
ETA: I sent mine last week...we only have 2 so far!

We never did before, but we are this year. It isn't something that we do in my family. We never did it when I was little, but I am starting now and would like to make it a tradition for our family from now on.
This is us! I think if it's fun for you to do, do it. If not, don't do it. I don't pay much attention to who sends one or care if people do or not. I like to see the babies, but otherwise I don't think they are a big deal.

I love sending them but it is becoming such a downer to send out 45 every year and only get 10. Even if it is something as simple as a paper card with your name on it, I love getting them. I guess I just don't understand (with few exceptions) why this is losing popularity? It is such a simple thing to do - I use the same list every year so it literally just means stuffing envelopes and sticking on labels/stamps. Now that we have Allison, I assume we will have more photo cards and there are sites that will even address and mail them for you!
I like doing it so I may just keep doing it no matter who sends them back, but i guess time will tell....
And for those of you who don't send them...this is for you!
I said SS because it's our first year doing it. I am embarrassed that we haven't done them and we've been married for 6 years. But I am pumped about sending them this year!
DH and I have always sent holiday cards. The only exception being last year. I justified this, because we'd be sending out tons of birth announcements shortly after.
The number of cards we send out has decreased though. We used to send out 80, and it's now at 55. Next year, I'd like to get it to 40ish.
