I feel like several of the ladies here who had di/di twins have recommended this company. So it is legit? I did actually already by a kit since I am really wanting to see if my girls are identical but my husband (who is a medical professional) was kind of rolling his eyes about it. I know it has been in some Twin Magazines, and I know you can't really use the results for medical purposes. But is it "accurate" in that we could finally get an official answer as to whether our di/di twins are identical?

We used them. We were told all along that our boys were ID, but they looked so different to me that I had to know for sure. [My DH thought I was crazy]. Sure enough, they're ID. The company was easy to deal with and we had our results quickly. I'd rec them to anyone.

I used them and was very happy. I will say that I wish I had waited because my boys look SO different now that they're a little older.

This is how I feel about my ID boys, and everyone thinks I'm nuts. If they don't look more alike to me by one year, I'm getting them tested.

I used Affiliated Genetics when my girls were 11m old. We were pretty sure they were fraternal because they didn't really look alike to us, but as it turns out they are totally identical. When we tell people we thought they were fraternal, most of them look at us like we're morons. They're pretty stinking identical. They go through phases where they don't look so much alike, but it's never very long!

We used them we knew our girls are fraternal but everyone kept telling us they had to be identical and my DH trouble telling apart sometimes. They are fraternal I also wished we waited cause they look nothing alike now.

I just finished swabbing our boys tonight haha. I hope it is accurate is sure isn't cheap! We should know in 10 days!

Why doesn't your husband thing it's legit? You take a bunch of different swabs and they analyze the DNA from the swabs. You do a few different swabs for each child, which I'm assuming is so they have more to test from (especially if you mess up a swab somehow), and they pull DNA samples from the swabs and compare them. Does he think they don't actually run the analysis and just send you random results (that it's a scam)? If he's a medical professional I would find it odd if he was wary of the procedure itself. FWIW, we had the test done by them and when we told the pediatrician the results he said "good to know".

It has nothing to do with the cheek cells.....more if it were a "scam" aka: random results. And it was more my husband's colleagues, than my husband himself. He knows that cheek cells are fine, in fact better than a blood test.
