Just wondering if anyone waited a little later to start solids? DD is 7 months and we've just started solids. So far she's eaten baby oatmeal, avocado, banana. I'm not sure how much she's actually eating though. When do they actually start eating being interested in eating rather than playing? ps I plan to continue breast feeding for at least a year am trying to do everything baby led
Re: Starting solids later, after 7 months?
I think I remember someone telling us to start solids no later than 8 months, but there really is no rush to start sooner than 6.
DS started showing interest at 4 - 5 months, but since we were EBF and I was already doing an elimination diet to try to get his eczema under control, it didn't make sense for us to introduce solids until we had finished doing food trials in my diet.
We started at 6 months. So far we have given him peas, bananas, sweet potatoes, quinoa, avocado, pear, and apple. The apple gave him terrible gas. We haven't decided when to wean, I'm still learning all I can about it.
