Anyone else feel this way?

I feel like I am going to have a break down, seriously. I cannot seem to get my house clean and it's driving me nuts. I will have it cleaned one day and then the next it's flipped upside down. It doesn't help that we live in a farm house so closet space is very limited and DH has no place to put his clothes so in turn, our spare room is the Gap. Clothes EVERYWHERE!!! I need to buy him an armoire or something. Also, I can't seem to clean enough, no matter how hard I clean... it still seems dirty to me. I don't know if this is a normal motherly thing or I'm just a nut (don't answer that, LOL). I am just so frustrated!!!!

  • I feel like my house looks like an episode of hoarders (not really) for months now. I cannot get it clean. We have no storage and tons of crap with no where to go. When I feel like I am getting a dent in it clean wise, I feel like it gets wrecked two days later.

  • I have the same problem. Clothes everywhere!! They grow out of thm faster than I can get rid of the out grown clothes. I get hung up on the idea of selling them but I just can not get my act together in this area. Clothes are all over the place!! Then there are my clothes. I have my big/ maternity clothes and then my pre pregnancy clothes that I am 7 lbs away from fitting into.

  • I feel that way, but mostly because I can't find the time to clean! The list if things that need to be done at home just keeps growing and growing. I am never going to be ready for Christmas!!!

  • Yep, I feel this way for sure. I have a one-two punch problem of not enough time and not really caring enough. I haven't cleaned my shower since before DS was born...how gross is that?! (Please understand not everything in the house is this way, just the areas the kids/guests don't go.)

  • DH usually doesn't get Jackson dressed but when he does, he pulls from the basket of clothes that I need to put away because they don't fit him OR he grabs from the basket of clothes that he'll fit into in about a month or 2. Then he gets mad when I tell him he needs to change him or just let me do it. So he told me I needed to organize his clothes better so that doesn't happen. (What would fix the problem, is if he would just grab clothes from the dresser lol) Well yesterday when we were getting ready for church, DH decided to get clothes for Jackson while I was in the shower and Jackson was still sleeping. When I saw what he picked out, an outfit that needs to be packed away because it's waaaay to short, I told him it didn't fit him and I'll get something else. So once again, DH told me I needed to organize the clothes better. I told him that if he wanted me to get that done, he would have to spend the day with Jackson so I don't have a baby attached to me or a baby crawling all over the place, getting into everything! So, that's what happened yesterday! He watched Jackson all day while I organized the clothes! Plus, I actually got to mine and DH's as well.

Because you're short on storage, could you get some of those stack-able drawers? They usually have them at Target or Wal-Mart and I wanna say after the holidays they are fairly cheap. Or if your DH is a handy man, could he build some sort of shelving unit to put in the spare room? Or check out craigslist and see if someone has some dressers or even bookshelves for sale!

  • Yup, I feel ya!  I have a woman come clean and I was so embarassed last time because I had to pick up all the clutter and put it on the dining room table so she could clean.  So now, my dining room table is full of clutter AND it seems to have exploded all over the house.  And it isn't like it stays clean, my floors are sticky and need to be vacuumed.

I hate being home, I can't relax because there is so much to do and I can't clean because I freeze trying to decide where to start!  AND the christmas decorations are in boxes in the living room.  No chance I'm getndng that done this year!.

I have decided that this is my new normal until the kid(s) are in school and I have more free time...so like 7-8 more years!

  • Oh yeah.  No way that I can keep mine clean either.  We are in a little 2 bedroom condo and tons of stuff!  We had a lot of stuff before kids...now add 2 kids toys and all the stuff that goes with them.

  • We used to have an old house and even before Abby came along, I felt like I could never keep it clean enough.  The house just shed dust.  I swear I could dust and 10 minutes later it looked like I had never even bothered.  Even in the new house, I feel like I'm falling behind.  I'm lucky if I get the bathrooms cleaned every other week and haven't vacuumed upstairs since Thanksgiving.  Downstairs I try to do a little more just because that's where Abby plays.  But I never seem to be able to keep it up.  And DH doesn't help because I find coats and shoes scattered about when the coat closet is literally two steps further.  I second the idea of buying those pull out drawers from Target or Walmart.  I used them in college and they are awesome.
