Has anyone's doctor advised them to stop driving at a certain time during their pregnancy? I'm due on the 18th and my mom is flying in tomorrow and my husband has to work. The airport is an hour away. As of Friday I was not dilated and I have no signs of pre-labor. I believe its safe for me to drive alone to pick her up. But just curious if doctors advise mothers to be to stop driving as their due date gets closer.
Re: Is Driving alone ok at 39 weeks??
I would do it. If you're not having contractions prior to the drive, the odds of suddenly having unbearable ones less than an hour later seem low. If you defy the odds and things get hairy, you can always pull over and call for help.

I gave birth at 39w5d with DS, and worked up until two days before (was actually supposed to go in the day I delivered, too).
I wouldn't drive hours away, just because I would want to be relatively close to my hospital, but one hour each way is NBD.

My BFP Chart
I've never been told not to drive late in pregnancy - if you aren't on bed rest or some other restrictions you should be fine!
My Dr's only restrictions had to do with travel distance, and no air travel in the last 2 months.
I'd go pick her up.
