Pain after internal.

For anyone out there who is getting cervical checks, how long after are you still in pain? I had my second internal about 4 hours ago and while the cramps have subsided I still can't walk or get comfortable. I feel like I pulled a muscle in my vagina and I don't remember being in this much pain after my first check last week. Any thoughts on what this could be?

    After my first, I was super uncomfortable for at least a couple hours after.  I remember telling DH that I was glad the apt was in the evening because there was no way I could go back to work after.  

    The second wasn't as bad.

    I will say that uhhh Dh and I had some nooky time after the first one because it hurt so bad so I was thinking to uhh stretch out and that seemed to make a difference for the second.

    At least in my mind that's why it wasn't as uncomfortable, haha  :)

    If your cervix is really posterior than it will hurt a little more since they have to really get up there. Your doc could of also tried to do a membrane sweep depending on if your dilated enough or not. I know some docs will try to do them routinely at a certain point.

    i have had several internals that didnt hurt at all.

    on friday i had one that was extremely painful and caused a lot of spotting. i was in pain from the exam on, for the rest of the day (exam at 1 pm, went to bed around 10). i think it depends on the dr- the OB i had on friday was not nearly as good/gentle as the dr i normally see.

    Blah I hate internals.  My cramping and discomfort always last the rest of the day.  Go home and take a warm bath.  That always helps me.

    Did you "breathe right"? My first check I was scared and by the time I listened to the doctor say take a deep breathe in I was taking like short little breaths and then after it hurt for a while. I had my second one today and really focused on my breathing in and out when I should and it was uncomfortable but not for long after.
