I have no idea where else to pose this question so I'm asking here with Rogers crossed that someone might have a clue!
i have been employed for a few months and only now my employer is asking her employees to get a physical - stemming from the inspectors surprise visit a couple of weeks ago and her getting in trouble because she didn't do a pre-employment screening... And I don't have health insurance. It isn't offered through my work and as soon as my divorce goes through I will be applying to government aided health care but in the mean time I have none. And my question is this : isn't it my employers responsibility to be paying forget physical exam?? It will cost me an arm and a leg without insurance - especially if she is asking for a drug screening on top of it (I'm not sure yet if she is). But i know she is expecting me to pay out of pocket if that's what I need to do to get a physical to keep this job... Anyone have any ideas?? I sent an inquiry to the department of labor but I thought I'd ask here too in case anyone has any clue...
Re: NBR: job screening question!
Every job I have ever had pays for the drug screen/physical if it is required for employment and according to this link it seems like your employer should be too
