Hello all, so today was my 20 weeks u/s. Everything went amazing! We told the u/s tech we didn't want to know until Xmas so she put it in an envelope and made sure not to print any pictures that may give it away. BUT, when the fetal doc came in, we told him the same thing, and he printed a pic of between the legs. I see a "tea bag" but not a nub sticking out from it. The umbilical cord is also right there. I also herd girls are swallon down there and can resemble a sac. Ughhh I feel like I am def having a boy and the surprise is ruined!! Still excited!
Re: how accurate is a 3D ultrasound for gender at 20 weeks
Honestly, when we got our 2D ultrasound at 18 weeks, it was as clear as daylight that this baby is a boy. When I was pregnant with DD2 we had 2D and 3D ultrasounds done, and it was completely obvious that she was a girl. And with my eldest, I only had 2D ultrasounds but, again, it was clear as anything that she was a girl. The difference between the way a vag and a penis look in ultrasound is pretty obvious. The presence of a penis is pretty unmistakable. If you got a free and clear shot of the goods and you don't see a penis, it's pretty likely it's a girl.
// I love you too. //
Yea I don't want to influence you in any way but mine was clearly a boy and I went at 15 weeks. It was confirmed at my a/s.
