How cold is too cold for outdoor activities?

DH and I want to take DS to the zoo lights, but it's going to be about 25-27 degrees for the rest of the month.

Is this a bad idea?

He will be bundled up and we will only be out for about an hour, less including the time we will be in the heated tents, etc.

I'm thinking we will have to wait until he is older.

What do you guys think?

  • I'd probably do it as long as there is a warm place to take a break every 10 to 15 minutes. I'd also probably wear my guy in the Ergo so that my body heat would keep him warm.

  • We will be doing things outside in that temp.  I love outside things though and will be taking her and DS out a lot.  Of course not for long time periods.  I would defantly do the zoo lights!

  • We would definitely go! There's an ice festival here in January and we always go. I'll probably bundle Lauren up and wear her in the Ergo, but we are definitely going!

  • I would definitely go!  Unless of course the wind was blowing like crazy, which it tends to do here.  LO's cheeks were so rosy and wind burnt the other day just from going between the car and the store.

  • I'd go in a heartbeat! You said there are tents to warm up in and as long as he's bundled up tight, he should be just fine. The only thing that would stop me would be rain/bad snow or rough winds.
