DD pulls herself up to standing and will walk if I hold both of her hands. But honestly, she just isn't interested in it. She can crawl pretty fast and I think walking "slows" her down so she just doesn't want to. She can even crawl and drag her toys around to where ever she wants them.
I am not really worried as I know she has the ability, just not the burning desire to do so. But, at the same time, it feels like everyone else's kid is walking by this age!
We are getting her a little toy that she can walk behind for Christmas...so maybe that will help a bit. She already has an "around we go" that she literally RUNS around. Yet, when you take her out of it...she just wants to crawl.
Re: Is my DD the only one not walking?
L was the exact same way less than 2 weeks ago. She would only walk if you held her hands, and even then, she would prefer to crawl. She could take a few steps by herself (maybe 3 feet).. but that was it. Then literally, over one weekend, she started walking a lot better, and actually likes to do it! I was shocked (and so not ready for it haha)
She still can't stand up on her own, she needs to pull up on a couch or have someone's hand to help her up, but she is definitely walking now.
I guess this is my long winded version of saying, don't worry, it will happen quicker than you expect! :-)
This is exactly how DS is. Cruising everywhere, standing independently but only taking a step or two at a time. I'm not worried one bit. It'll happen before we know it!
