When was your GT test?

My appointments have been a little off from going in at 23 weeks for lots of pressure, so my OB made that my 24 week checkup and scheduled me for 26 weeks instead of 27. She told me she would do the GT test at 26 weeks, but when I went in she said we would do it at my next appointment, but to avoid me having to come in the weeks of Christmas, she booked me at 29 weeks instead of 28. So I will have my GT test at 29 weeks. Everything I've read says that test is performed between 26-28 weeks, just hoping this isn't like some of the other screenings that have a drop dead deadline (NT screen, etc.)

Mine is tomorrow (28 weeks). When I called, the nurse said most doctors like it done in the 24-28 week timeframe, but that If I go later it is not a big issue. It is one of those things where the later you get tested, the later they address any potential problems.

I don't have an answer for your question, but I'm in the same boat. My appointments got off the normal schedule because of an extra ultrasound I had to have. I've had two appointments now where I thought I would be getting the test and then they pushed it back. So now I'm scheduled to take it at 30 weeks 2 days. I wouldn't think it is a drop dead deadline screening, but I would assume that it would be a test that would be better to do sooner rather than later so that if you come back positive it can be regulated. I tend to follow my doctor's cues, though. If she doesn't seem worried about it then I'm not either (but I think that's more my personality too.)

I had mine at 24 weeks. My doctor's office gives everyone the 3 hour test. I am happy to say that I passed.

I could have it done between 25w and 28w. I did it at 26w.

Mine was at 24w this time. The first time it was 28w. Not sure why the change, but it seems a lot of practices here are moving to an earlier, 2 hour test rather than a later 1 and 3 hour test.

There is no drop dead time limit. It really is to watch you near the end as your baby can get very large and sometimes they choose to induce becuase of it. Also, they will just want you to watch what you eat but really, you should be doing that anyway. Not to worry, 29 weeks is just fine.

I just got home from mine, 27w 5d. Today was the only day this week I could go before my appointment next week.

I am sure an extra week won't make too much difference.

I did mine early due to risk factors (1 hr at 21 weeks, 3 hr at 23 weeks) I failed both & have GD.

I had mine today at 26w3d. They gave me paperwork to go to a lab though and I could do it any time 24-28 weeks.

My 1 hour was last week - so I was 27 weeks. Luckily, I passed the 1 hour this time.

I see my OB again in a week, and expect to be given my lab order then? I think? If not it will be at exactly 30 weeks which seems a little late.

GD develops later in the pregnancy bc the placenta gets large and emits a hormone that can block the insulin, causing high blood sugars.

My doc said between 24-28 weeks was fine, but the sooner the better. This is my first baby, so he might have wanted it sooner just in case (even though I have had no complications so far and I have no family history of it).

Better safe than sorry. Should get my results soon!

I had a similar issue with timing because I switched OBs and was worried because I would be 29 weeks too. My doctor said it doesn't matter.

I hit 24 weeks yesterday and the np at my appt on Friday mentioned the GTT with my appt on 1/4/13.

My doctor gave me my lab slip at my 27 week appt and told me I could do it anytime between then and 29 weeks and she'd be okay with it. I ended up doing it at 27 weeks, failing the one hour, and had my 3 hour today at 28 weeks.

I go in on th 18th for mine, I'll be 26weeks on the dot.

Thanks everyone!! I guess if she was concerned she would have done it earlier, this is #2 and I didn't have any issues last time but gained a ton of weight.
