I was taught not to wear brown with black, but I've seen this look and like it a lot. What do you think? Is this acceptable?  I don't have a lot of wardrobe options right now and was wondering if I can wear something like this.

    I just think black and brown look bad together.

    I love those tall boots but I would not wear them with the black outfit. Just not my style.

    I like a more camel or caramel color with black but I don't think brown boots with black looks bad, especially if you have some kind of accessory that is a less dark brown to make it fit.

    I can't see your pictures, but is it camel-colored and black?

    I wear my camel-colored boots and my camel bag with black. I personally think it's cute and am wearing it today (::hides from Woodsie::) 

    I don't usually mix chocolate brown and black though.

    Perfectly acceptable. There's an obvious contrast between the black and brown. If the brown was so dark that it looked like it was black ... then it wouldn't work.

    I like what you're wearing :-) I think the top goes perfect with those boots. I think the pictures in the OP are just too much contrast. All black with those brown boots. Just NMS.
