We are having tacos for dinner tonight! I make them with ground beef and taco seasoning (shocker!). Flour tortillas with pinto beans, sour cream, and cheese. I add tomatoes to mine, but DH doesn't.
Okay this is going to sound weird, but here is what we do: Things start off normally with ground beef, beans, rice, and cheese. But then I crumble the shells up and throw all the crap on top of it and mix it all up. And add hot sauce and sour cream.
At first, DH thought this was completely looney, but then he decided he loved it too so that is how we do our tacos now.
I usually end up making a taco "salad." I highly doubt it qualifies as a salad, but there is lettuce, haha! Kinda like Swimiz, I crumble the shells and put the meat (ground beef with taco seasoning) and cheese on top then lettuce and catalina dressing. DH does think this is crazy and also doesn't like lettuce, so he eats flour tortilla tacos with only meat and cheese.
What does "Taco Bell" style mean? :We are having tacos for dinner tonight! I make them with ground beef and taco seasoning shocker!. Flour tortillas with pinto beans, sour cream, and cheese. I add tomatoes to mine, but DH doesn't.
plain ol' taco seasoning with ground beef; lettuce and cheese.
Chicken breasts with salsa are cooked in the crockpot so it shreds easily and deliciously for dinner.
Beef we used ground beef and Dh likes it LOADED with taco seasoning
We do flour tortillas in my house and toppings are your choice of the following: sour cream, salsa, lettuce, tomato, cheese, black olives, cilantro, and onion

So, before I moved to California I had no idea that what I thought tacos were are not authentic tacos.
We definitely eat "Taco Bell" style tacos. Ground beef or sometimes I do ground turkey cooked with taco seasoning covered with lettuce, slathered with sour cream, and I make a salsa/queso mix we use. It's super yummy! Since we are using the queso we don't put shredded cheese on our tacos.
Now I know that authentic tacos are usually just the meat, cilantro, and diced onions.
I also make and add black beans for DD and I. DH hates beans but I try to get him to eat them in at least one taco. He also puts Mexican rice in his tacos making them more like burritos than tacos.

I always start with diced onion and garlic, then add either ground pork, turkey, or very rarely beef and taco seasoning. If I'm making chicken tacos, I add my homemade canned tomatoes. I like flour tortillas, H likes corn. I just like cheese and lettuce on top, but H likes raw red onion and jalapeno.

This is basically how I like mine too. H likes his in the shells though.

If we are doing chicken tacos:
Chicken breasts with salsa are cooked in the crockpot so it shreds easily and deliciously for dinner.

Mmmmmm! Tacos!
We do ground beef and seasoning. I love the hard taco shells. We put beef, sour cream, salsa, franks hot sauce, lettuce, cheese and tomatoes
Pretty standard over here.
Ground beef with taco seasoning, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, and salsa or hot sauce. Maybe some refried or black beans if we are feeling fancy.
If we are using flour tortillas, they often get wrapped up and eaten like a burrito.
