Baby swing

Anyone have a suggestion on a baby swing. My friend gave me her fisher price I glide to borrow and the motor went and she only used for 3 months.  Looking for option besides fisher price. When she called them about the swing, they said the motors just don't last long. Any help would be great.

Re: Baby swing

  • My FP swing went too after a few months with DS.

We have the Mamaroo which is aweesome but it's not really a swing!! We also have a Bright Starts one that folds up and is portable!! We haven't used it yet (DS isn't here yet).

I hear people love the rock and play which can ROCK but not swing.

  • What I would look for in a swing is one that plugs in (otherwise you will go through TONS of batteries), one that reclines nicely and has lots of head support so a newborn can be comfortable, and one that has the option to swing side to side.

  • We have the FP Rainforest swing. It has an AC adapter so batteries aren't necessary, but the option is there. It takes up a lot of room though.

ETA: I've known a lot of people who have used this swing, and none of theirs have ever crapped out, which was a big part of my decision to buy it.

  • Yeah it seems like the craddle n swing types that plug in seem to be popular. We have the new Snuggamonkey one. We have yet to put it together, but the snuggabunny one is by far one of the most popular swings on the market.

  • we have the graco one that swings in the way that you would cradle and swing a baby. I'm not sure the exact name of it, but people have told us they loved them. It also plays music and can be plugged in.
