Some T & Ps for a friend please.

My BFF is expecting her first baby in a few weeks. The baby has a birth defect which is potentially life threatening and even best case scenario means months in the hospital. As her delivery date approaches, I worry more and more about her and her baby. It's so very scary and heartbreaking to think about what they will have to go through.

If anyone feels like sending out some thoughts and prayers that her baby comes through delivery safely and has a brief, positive, and complication-free stay in the NICU so that she can go home with her parents as soon as possible I would really appreciate it.

There is a video story on nbcnews.com today about a toddler with the same condition who is just now going home from the hospital at 2.5 years old. I watched it this morning and keep crying at the thought that our LOs would STILL be in the hospital today if they had been this little girl, and that my friend might be facing that kind of journey. Life can be so cruel.

I just watched the news story you mentioned. I'm so happy that little girl was able to go home, but I pray that your BFF's daughter will not have to experience this. I pray that this condition will not affect her the way the doctors think but instead can be easily fixed. I'll definitely keep this family and especially LO in my T&Ps. Please keep us posted. Lots and lots of T&P for your friend, baby and family. I that they can do an excellent job of fixing it for the baby, that it can be done with as little pain as possible, and that they can go home soon.
