Just had a clumpy spot, terrified

Ugh, I know, ew...but I'm kind of freaking out. I'm 10 weeks today. I just had a small, red clump spot. It was about the size of the tip of my pinky finger, so not a ton but definitely more than I have seen in the past, and the most I have seen since I conceived. I really have not spotted at all since conceiving. I'm scared and I don't think there is anything I can do. I've not had any severe cramping or anything like that.

UGH!!! And of course I got a fetal doppler and have not been able to find baby's hb since I got it, I've tried sometimes up to an hour. All I hear is the swishy 120 heartrate sound which I guess is me or an artery or something. Now officially freaking out.

At 8 weeks US was perfect, baby was 17 mm and strong hb at 166 bpm.

My next US is tomorrow with my regular OB since I graduated from my fertility clinic.

  • Get some rest, drink lots of water and take care of yourself today. *hugs* I know it's a terrifying situation. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.

  • Sometimes the drs even have trouble finding a HB depending on the position of the baby and the uterus. Don't let that scare you hum! Relax!
  • I'm so sorry you're freaked out, I just had a scare of my own.  Just take it easy today, put your feet up and you'll get answers tomorrow.  Also I would step away from the doppler for today....I never wanted one because I've heard it can be hard sometimes to hear the HB and cause worry, but I can definitely see why it puts women at ease to have one.  Good luck tomorrow and try to relax, though I know it's hard.

  • No update yet, I did call my OB yesterday and he said not to worry at all and that as long as I was not bleeding a TON I was fine.  I see him today for the first time.  I've previously been at my fertility clinic up until now.  I better get an US today to put my mind at ease.  I'll be demanding one if he doesn't plan on doing one.

Thanks for all your messages.  I'll update after my appt.

  • Update: Thank you for all your well wishes and words of advice. Saw my OB today and did an ultrasound, baby is snug as a bug in there, strong heartbeat and all, with super looking yolk sak :) Phew.... Even got to see baby move around a bit, she/he did a little dance for me to make me feel better :) So.....now another two-3 weeks before I go back. It's just so hard when it's so early and you can't feel anything and don't really have any major symptoms except some bloating and exhaustion.

I won't be using my doppler anymore for a while either.....useless thing, for now at least.

Thanks again for helping me to stay calm :) Hope everyone else is feeling good.
