Pretty snow pictures!

I just snapped these shots from my windows.

Photobucket

This is my backyard. There is a little path in the woods in the middle, usually we get a visit from a deer once or twice a week here.  That would have been a great shot.

Poor birds have no food!  This is our side deck.  There is at least 8 inches and it is still coming down thick.

You can probably tell from this picture how high up our house sits.  That is why it took me an hour to get up my steep driveway.  (we ran out of salt)

Re: Pretty snow pictures!

  • Beautiful pics!

We're supposed to get some snow tonight but at this rate it probably won't stick around.  Our snow total for the year so far is only 2.5 inches, none of it has stuck around, usually we have 10-12 by now!  Still holding out for a white Christmas, then the snow can go buh-bye and I'd be happy... unlikely though.

  • So pretty! I can't wait for Iz to see it. My Mom said they barely got any...towards Duluth. Trying to get a hold of my sister to see if she is snowed in as well.

  • So pretty! Pretty but dangerous sometimes. Although, I would rather have snow than the ice we get down here.

    Ha!

We don't shut down school for this!  It's Minnesota!

Beautiful!  I was too busy shoveling the snow to take any pictures of it yet, but I love it!  I think we ended with about 13-14 inches.  It made for a very festive day while we decorated our Christmas tree and drank cocoa.

    My commute this morning though...ugh.

I bet the commute was rough!  Plus people crazy.

LOL!!  Dang, that's quite a bit of snow.  The west side of Washington would totally shut down for that.  But, there are all kinds of hills everywhere over here, not quite sure about Minnesota.

Chunstad, I have to admit I chuckled a bit when I read your first comment.  (But not in a mean way, I promise!)  It takes a lot for school to get cancelled around here.  We're badass.  Wink

OMG, I'm watching the news and they said that in Minnesota it snowed 1" an hour and broke some old record from the 1800's!!  You guys are some tough bushes over there!

  • They are more apt to close schools for subzero windchill than snow here.

Parts of Minnesota are flat, they get the real blizzards, and they get the school closings.  Around the eastern side of the state there are some rolling hills.  Along the rivers we have bluffs.   When the glaciers receded here it left a bunch of hills and kettle lakes (deep small lakes).  Hence the land of 10,000 lakes (there are actually more than 10,000) Up north along Lake Superior we have the Saw Tooth mountains.
