Freezer meals

Have any of you made freezer meals? I am going shopping on Wednesday with my mom and she is coming home with me to help me make the freezer meals...only thing is I haven't picked any meals. Help?

Re: Freezer meals

  • I went to Let's Dish to make mine. Do you have a place like that near you? In 2 hours I made 16 meals (well 8 meals split in half). No shopping, no clean up. It was great and I don't think my swollen feet could have taken me doing it all at home. It was my first time and now I wish I had made 12 meals (24 when split!). Good luck!

  • These are the few that I have made.

Pot Roast (I made 2 of these)

    Baked Ziti

Easy Meatloaf (This is one I make regularly. Last time I did I just froze an extra one)

These are some of the other websites that I was going to use. I just have a picky DH so a lot of the stuff he won't even eat.

  • Made some bags with crockpot meals in them ready to be popped into the crockpot. I think we have a pineapple chicken one, an enchilada one and a beef stew. Plus I have been keeping a couple of frozen pizzas in there just in case.
  • I made several soups, so we can just thaw them out, add bread and eat.  I did tomato, baked potato, and a spicy peanut-tofu soup that I love, but I think almost any soup works great for a freezer meal--especially with our winter babies.

  • Homemade chicken pot pie, chicken enchiladas, chili, chicken and rice casserole.  All are easy and can find simple recipes online.  I don't know if you live near a Winn Dixie, but they have a ton of deals on meat right now..lots of b1g1 free deals.

  • I've made some, and DH picked up a bunch of heat and serve foods from M and M Meat Shop, like meatballs, seasoned pork chops, marinaded meats etc. I made two kinds of spaghetti sauce, pulled pork, chicken breasts, and soup. I plan on making some chili too, and maybe a shepherds pie. I'm not sure if that will end up happening since he bought so much snd my due date is coming up fast, but we'll see.

  • I also went to a meal-making place - "A Dinner AFare" and did 12 meals. Day after Thanksgiving, made 2 turkey pot pies, and have a couple of quarts of frozen soup. Also have been hoarding restaurant giftcards I figure we can use for takeout if things get desperate.

    Good luck!
