Jack's Birth Story :D

Jack Jacob was born on 12/7 at 9:08pm. He was 7lb 6oz, 20 inches long and just completely perfect :)

I ended up being in labor for 20 hours and after 35 minutes of pushing he made his appearance!

My original plan was a water birth but I was also just going to take this as they went.

We left for the hospital at 5:00am on 12/7. I had been having contractions for 7 hours and finally they just got to be too much. They were coming every 1-2 minutes and getting stronger. When we got to the hospital I was 3cm. I tried the birthing tub but just couldn't get comfortable. At 9am I was 5cm and asked for an epidural. (Holy f'n amazing.. like I said, it wasn't my plan - but it worked for me!)

By 1pm I was 9cm and 80-90% effaced. And that is where I sat until 8:30. Talk about disappointing! All the nurses in the birth center were talking about me and how fast I was progressing for a FTM. I started to feel contractions and ended up getting Pitocin at 4pm. By 8pm I was FINALLY 10cm and doc said it was time to push.

And like I said - 35 minutes later my little peanut was here! He had passed meconium and they had to take him and clean him out his nose and mouth before I could hold him. But as soon as they put him on my chest - I was instantly in love. He looks just like his daddy! :)
