Very bad baby reflex

If your baby has bad reflex how do you sooth them? We are still waiting to hear back on our apt to the pedi GI dr. I just want to relieve some of her discomfort. 

She is on a pretty high Zantac dose, I feed her on an incline and keep her upright for 40 mins after eating, and thicken some bottles with rice. She also sleeps on her belly.  She has issues with dairy so she is on a dairy/soy free formula. 

She went from eating lots of solids and 6 oz at a time to refusing all solids and now I'm lucky if she eats 3 oz. she will be 8 months old in a few days. I offer her bottle very often and she still is having plenty of wet and dirty diapers.

Any suggestions?

    We are in the same boat... and as crazy as it sounds, I put him into his jump-a-roo and it gets his mind off of his discomfort.

    We also are on Zantac, added rice formula, incline feeding, burping every 2 oz still, and nothing seems to help, except the jump-a-roo. But we need to watch him after a little bit, because he will throw up if in there for too long...

    That used to be her favorite and now she gets mad. She started to crawl so I don't know if she just wants to be down or what. Letting her crawl after eating makes her throw up too. Poor little babies! Hope your little guy gets better soon.

    We had to use Prevacid after trying Zantac. It worked really well she was on a 15 mg solutab mixed in water once daily. 

    Hypothyroid/Fibroids/Stage 4 Endometriosis

    10/2010 Open myomectomy to remove 3 fibroids largest @ 8 inches. Stage 4 endometriosis and inoperable/blocked left tube.

    3/2011 Laporoscopy/Hysteroscopy. 3 endometrioma cysts, hydrosalpinx, left tube and half of the left ovary removed.

    5/2011 IUI #1 medicated w/injections, 1 follie = BFP!

    6/2011 Blighted Ovum/ D&C

    9/2011 IUI #2 medicated w/injections, 2 follies = BFP!

    Thank you. We live in a really small town and have a wonderful dr but he is not a pedi and does not feel comfortable changing her meds. He wants to wait and see what the GI dr says. They finally called back and we have an apt for next Friday. I will ask about omeprazole.

    I know next to nothing about baby reflux bit just wanted to chime in and say Prilosec is the brand name for omeprazole. It's a proton pump inhibitor like previcad.

    My lo is 6 months old an we've started solids and her reflux seems to be worse. She has just started waking up from naps screaming! Could this be reflux? She's been on Zantac this entire time I've upped it to 2 ml but it's not helping, do we need new meds?

    My little ones reflex got really bad around thanksgiving. Before that the Zantac seemed to manage it. Since then she all but refuses solids. I keep offering but she won't open for more than one bite. Mila is about 18 lbs and takes 2.5 ml twice a day. The dr said this is the max dose for her weight. Does you baby vomit after eating solids? For whatever reason pumpkin did not sit right with her. You might keep a food diary to see if one particular food makes it worse. You might also look into a dairy allergies. When I bf I had to cut all dairy out. She had a lot of cramping and gas. Now we use a dairy and soy free formula. I would give the dr a call and see what they think too.

    Zantac for us does NOTHING.  Neither does Prilosec.  The only thing that has worked is 15 mg of Prevacid.  We give it compounded in liquid 7.5 mg 2x day.
     
    DS1 who was a projectile vomiter had to have his formula thickened or it never stayed down. 
     
    Have you tried to thicken with oatmeal instead of rice?  The oatmeal was so much better for my DS1.
