What do u ladies think?

So... My friend was over lastnight an she was telling me shes starting to get prepared for 12/21/12.. I havnt done any research on this or anything but she said somthing is suppose to happen on that day where we could not have electricity for awhile.. Weeks, months, years? has anyone looked into this or anything? Im getting worries now..

    No offense, but I think your friend is a member of the tinfoil hat brigade. I highly doubt anything is going to happen.

    I know it sounds weird but I would rather go without then making myself worry and go crazy over something that is nothing.

    I have read a few things and there have been a few different shows that I have caught on the whole 12/21/12 - end of the mayan calander - end of the world thing. I dont believe it. It happens every couple years, look at the whole Y2K thing, nothing happened then either.

    I think that the only thing that will happen on 12/21/12 is that we'll be on our first day of Christmas vacation in NYC and I'll finally get to see the big tree!

    Prepare for it?  She should be living it up!!  If she believes in that stuff then she knows the world is going to end.  But some believe that the Mayans were 50 years off so she might have 50 more years to live(if she'll even be alive, depending on her age). 

    I personally don't believe in any of that stuff.

    a couple next door to us are having an "end of the world" party. they are preparing in that way. They aren't concerned, just a reason to have a party!

    Damn!  Why am I planning DH's 40th B-day in January when he won't make it until then anyway?!
    Why did I spend so much damn $$ on Christmas gifts when our first party isn't until 12/22?

    The Mayans also didn't account for leap years so technicalky the world would have ended many months ago!

    If I had been drinking when I read this it would have gone out my nose!!  I don't think it could be said any better...  It's sort of like everyone who was all hyped up over Y2K!!

    I'm not going to prepare for anything happening on that day. Because I don't think anything is going to happen on that day.
