Edited to fix title.
I know there has been a lot of talk of maternity jeans lately, and I keep going back and forth with which ones to order (neither stores carry them locally, so it has to be an online order).i hate ordering loathes online-I always prefer to try things on before purchasing. I'm also tall, further complicating things.
I hav never been able to wear ON jeans-too big in the waist, too tight in the thighs and generally just fit weird. I have one pair of sweetheart skinnies that (used to) fit ok, but not my favorite. Do you find their maternity jeans fit similar to how ther regular jeans fit you? I really want them to work for me because the price is right.
Gap jeans always it me better than anywhere else, but they are so stinking expensive! (I'm cheap and always shop at the outlet.) if I bite the bullet and spend the money on them, do I buy my pre-pregnancy size? How do they run? I feel like I have huge thighs now, so I'm contemplating going up a size...
I've tried on motherhood jeans, and they were OK on me, so that's an option, just not one that excites me.
Re: Gap v. Old Navy maternity jeans
Old navy stuff falls apart so quickly! And they have weird elastic bands on their maternity clothes. Gap are definitely worth the investment.

YW! They are demi panel sexy boot cut, BTW! I got them in store 25% off, but it looks like they are having 30% off online right now.

I had much more success at Gap. I love that they have long lengths and the fit through the hip/thigh is always slim enough and flattering. My favorite maternity jeans are the Sexy Boot, and they're worth every penny. I ordered my normal size and they lasted the whole pregnancy. Also, I personally hate demi panel and could only wear full panel by 25w or so last time. I felt they stayed up better and demi panels seemed too tight on the waist and pushed on all the wrong spots.
Thats why I'm looking right now.!:-) And they have red pants, which I've been looking for.

Gap. Now is a great time to buy because there are a lot of everything 30% off sales or 1 item 40% off. I would suggest trying them on if possible though. I'm a 4 in many Gap Jeans, but a 6 in skinny jeans. However, my maternity skinny jeans and my sexy boot are both 4. The 6s were gigantic (mainly in the butt).
I am really happy with them. I had IVF bloat, so I was in the demi panels a bit earlier than I expected, but they're still comfy even now that I have an outie belly button. The full panel are still a little weird if I wear the panel up (though I have when it's been cold), but I can wear them with the panel folded for now.
I feel like I'm wearing MY jeans when I wear them... And that's a great feeling IMO.

I'm so happy to have you on this board - we're practically the exact same size! I've definitely been leaning toward Gap jeans, but given that I don't expect to show for ages yet, have been holding off.
