Bloody Show...how much longer now?

I am sure that is what is happening to me right now. It's similar to the tail end of a period and there isn't very much at all. It's a brownish pink (more brown - I'd say) and I'm not cramping or anything. I feel fine. Baby is moving the same as usual.

My question is, for those who experienced a bloody show, how far after should I expect labour? I know everyone is different and I could still be weeks away (only 10 until my due date) but am just curious what other people's experiences were with this.

Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for me!

My dr, the books I have ,and other woman at my job said bloody show is sign labor is on its way .

I hoping for any signs of labor at this point besides the contractions or BH or false labor or whatever it is thats happening to me . Im doing walking,sex ,spicy food but nothing so far.

Good news is Im 2 cm dialated already as of my last appt and if tommorow's appt shows further dialation the dr will induce me since ill be 39 wks and its the holiday time and what Ive been asking for and its close enough.(8 days until my due date)

I didn't have my bloody show until I was already in labor, so I'm not much help advice wise.

However, I agree with PP- it's a sign of active labor as far as I know.

I didn't have bloody show until labor.

However, I've heard it means labor is 24-48 hours away. My obgyn requested that I call if I saw bloody show before labor started.

That actually sounds like spotting to me. The cervix is very highly vascularized, so if you've had sex recently, or even had a hard sneeze or coughing jag (like I did a couple weeks ago that got me to call my midwife...) it is possible to spot like this. It's not a concern...

I could be wrong here, but I've always used "bloody show" and "mucous plug loss" interchangeably, since the MP is usually tinged with blood.

losing my mucus plug and my bloody show were two totally separate things and happened 6 days apart.

I lost my mucous plug days before labor. I had my bloody show at 5am TmI but a huge clot in the toilet followed my brown/red every time I used the BR until delivery and delivered at 4pm

I had a bit of pink discharge the morning I went into labor (38 weeks, 1 day) and then undeniable bloody show once labor had begun (about an hour or so into it, in retrospect).
