H started doing this recently. She only has her four front teeth so she slides them back and forth. It gives me the chills and I do tell her no or try to distract her when she does it because I don't want this to become a habit. I grind my back teeth and it can be painful sometimes.
When A first got a bunch of teeth she began grinding...it gave me the heebie-jeebies! I remember asking on here and the advice I got was that it was normal and they would grow out of it. Yep, that's exactly what happened. I think she did it for a couple of weeks and was done.
Hopefully he won't continue the teeth grinding for long!!
ETA: I think it was Penny that told me not to make a big deal about it to them...if you make a big deal about it they will keep doing it for the reaction ;-)

DS would do it and it was awful!!! I would try to distract him or worst case give him his pacifier (he only uses it at night usually). It didn't last long thankfully!
Aubriella was doing it when she was teething. It drove me nuts. It only lasted a few weeks and she has stopped. I believe it is just a stage they go thru and she will grow out of it.
N did this for a week or so. I would pop a chew toy in her mouth or a snack and tell her "Oh, don't grind your teeth" and sign owie. She hasn't done it in a few weeks. I really hope she was just exploring her new teeth and the sounds they could make.
