Hi there,
I am new to this board so I am sorry if this question got asked. But I live in the Milwaukee area and am starting to question my physician choice and hospital location. Right now I am planning on delivering at the Women's Pavilion in West Allis and my obgyn is part of the Aurora system. I am from Boston and know nothing about the hospitals here and when I did a search on my doc and hospital, I saw mixed reviews.
I am starting to get really nervous about my selection and am not even sure I can change since I am 14 weeks now.
Can anyone offer any insight or make any recommendations for a good obgyn or hospital?
THANKS!!!
Re: Milwaukee Area Question
If you are not happy switch doctors!!! It's never too late. I ended up staying with an OB I didn't like and regretted it.
I delivered both of my kids at Women's Pavilion and had a good experience there. Dr. Powell delivered my son (even though she wasn't my OB and actually wasn't even in the same group as my OB ... long story) and I loved her.
She is now my new doctor and has been great.
You can change doctors and/or hospitals at any time you want. Your mommy and you should only be where you are comfortable. Its your choice. If you're not happy (which you should be), then change it up to your liking.
I have a Wheaton OB and I love her. I gave birth the first time (and will be returning this next time, also) at St. Josephs. Its the number one baby hospital in the midwest. I had a wonderful experience in both labor and delivery, and recovery. Everyone was so attentive and kind. It was a memorable experience. I would recommend it.

I'm a little late to the game, but I delivered both of my sons at West Allis and had a good experience.
I see Dr Stephen McAvoy for my yearly visits and all of the OBs for prenatal visits and have liked them. Dr Williams delivered DS2 and I had a good experience with her. I also saw Allie McNeil (a midwife) for 1 appointment and thought she was fantastic. I would highly recommend this group.
Shorty, may I ask if it is St. Joe's on Burleigh in Milwaukee? I live in Milwaukee and wanted to have my baby there [I'm biased, I was born there!] but my current doc is based out of Menomonee Falls. I've been living in Milwaukee for 6 years and have yet to switch my doc. Now that we got our BFP this past weekend there is even more of a fire under my behind!
If it is indeed St. Joe's may I pick your brain regarding good doc's in Milwaukee. You don't have to tell me who you went with but I definitely could use a recommendation! Especially since you seem very pleased with your experience.
TIA!!
