water breaking question

I felt the urge to pee, so I made my way to the bathroom and as I was about too pull down my undies and it came out almost like a balloon popped. I made it onto the toilet since I was practically hovering over it anyway. So I sat down and I pee'd like normal, I guess. I'm not sure if I just couldn't hold my pee it in anymore, or if it was my water. There hasn't been any extra leaking, but I have gotten up to pee about three times since. All normal.

I did call my CNM and she said not to worry and that it was probably a urine leak but for some reason I'm just afraid it was my water.

What do you ladies think ? The main hospital is about an hour away, and I'm not sure if I should make the drive there to go to the emergency room or if I could wait until tomorrow and go to my doctors office tomorrow when they open.

    Personally I would want to wait. If it was your water, contractions are likely to start anyway. And even if they don't start right away I would want to wait as long as possible to be "on the clock" because they only let you go so long without an induction. Then again the longer you go with your water broken the risk of infection goes up so it is really a personal choice, but if it was me, I would wait until the office opens at least.

    Because you called your medical professional and she recommended waiting, then I'd follow her directions. Of course, if you start to feel something different, start "leaking", or have close contractions, I'd make another call or head to the hospital.

    No mention of mucous plug here either... if you haven't lost it yet, and you didn't lose it just now, it probably wasn't the water. Like pp said too, usually contractions start.

    I would wait. When my water broke with my first it was a huge gush continued to leak for hours. My contractions didn't start until 13 hours later. Luckily I was having a homebirth because if I was at a hospital they would have csectioned me due to their clock but my midwife doesnt do internals so there was no risk of infection

    When its your water, it doesn't stop coming out. If you're not still leaking, I don't think that's what it was. Could just be the baby putting a lot or pressure on your bladder.

    When my water broke with DD1 I never lost my mucus plug or had any contractions start until I got pitocin several hours later.  It is different for everyone. 

    I knew it was my water because like others said it didn't stop happening.  It actually got more frequent for a while and I couldn't control it at all.

    So far I'm still here at home hanging out. Other then the regular pelvic pain I get when trying to roll around in bed I haven't felt anything. Thank you ladies. I guess everything is fine.
