Following People and Not Just Threads

I'd like to follow certain people that put messages up.  Is this possible, or am I just able to follow their threads they post individually? 

Also, when I "follow a thread"- is there a place it shows up when I sign on?  Where can I locate all the threads or people I follow?

Thanks for fielding my ignorance :)
