I have a 4 week old. How often do you bathe your baby? I heard somewhere - at a class or something that you should only bathe a newborn once or twice a week, but am wondering what others do. Plus my DS has really dry skin on his face, so I don't want to make it worse...
Re: How often do you bathe baby?
My Blog
after her belly button fell off we bathed her every third day, around 2 months we started every other day, and around 3 months every night to establish a bedtime routine.
I've just started to give ds a nightly bath. He doesn't have dry skin and I'd like to start the beginning of a wind down routine with him. He's been so fussy this week that it seems to help him calm down.
During the first couple of months we bathed him every 3-4 days. Now we give him a bottom wash-off first thing in the AM and right before bedtime. We hold him under the faucet and soap him up. We started this because of a bad diaper rash and decided that we like the routine. It helps keep his diaper area looking and feeling great. I wash his face and hands, too (no soap for his face.)
DD gets bathed 2x per week, or more if she's smelly.
