Abdominal binders

Do these really help get your shape back after a vaginal delivery? Just curious...I hadn't really heard about this until recently. Any you'd recommend?

Re: Abdominal binders

  • I used mine ofter my section. They help with pain, support, lessening post partum stretch marks, and help your abs reconnect. I think it helped. I got the Belly Bandit Bamboo in 2 sizes for this baby.

  • i don't know if they help, but i used them after my last pregnancy (vaginal delivery of twins). i had very little loose skin after i lost the weight, and was able to wear a bikini last summer.

it also helped me feel more comfortable- after delivery it felt like everything was loose inside me and i felt very breathless and uncomfortable. the binder kept everything in. it also helped me wear normal clothes very early on.

i am taking binders in 2 different sizes with me in my hospital bag this time.

  • I took a pelvic health class lead by a PT who specializes in women's issues and she suggested using them postpartum to help encourage those ab muscles to close back up.
