G goes to a sitter for two full days per week and the sitter doesn't watch any other kids (besides her own 6 yo who is in school most of the day). We really love her, and I want to get her something nice for the holidays.
Her family doesn't have a lot of money, and last year I just gave her a gift card since we'd only been using her for about a month before xmas. I want to get her something more thoughtful for just her....but my friends are telling me it might be too weird. Last year she commented that she liked my Uggs, and she has a beat-up pair of cheapies that it looks like she wears a ton. Would it be weird to get her a pair of Uggs, or should I give her the $$ instead? Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Re: Gift for sitter
This! I definitely would be appreciative of such a gift. Go for it!
I've always heard the best gift for nanny/sitter is cash. But I think it depends, is she more of an "employee" or more of a friend? If that makes any sense lol.
I feel like if it's the latter, and you seem to know her well, and she's specifically mentioned that she likes your Uggs (and you know her size) then I think those would be a very nice gift.
We have a nanny that comes to our house p/t - while I'm debating getting her a gift from LO, like an ornament or something small, we plan to just give her a weeks salary cash as a Christmas bonus.
