Adoption?

Hey all,

 

Anyone here done Domestic Infant Adoption with an agency? I'm over on the adoption boards but would love to talk with some queer folks about adopting.

    We are fostering to adopt, with an agency.  It's free, and very accepting of GLBT folks. Feel free to ask me any quesitons.

    We have/are adopting through foster care, it has been a good experience, is free, and has brought us a lot of joy. We are done with foster care after the girls case is decided, their case has been a clusterfck and I can't put myself out there like that anymore. I really urge people to look into adopting through foster care though, as long as you don't get a crap SW, you are good.

    We have strongly considered private adoption and DIA if we don't do insems.

    We're doing Domestic Infant Adoption with an agency. So we do profile books, get chosen by a birth mother etc. We're in the homestudy process now, which we're not super worried about. But we're having all kinds of anxiety about what happens after a match. On the adoption boards I feel like it's a lot of matches that fall through, and recently it's been at the hospital moments after babies are born situations. I'm just terrified...that things will fall through when we get to that point. ... Terrified.

    We did a domestic infant adoption without an agency through a lawyer.
