My LO is obsessed with paper, she loves it. All the time, whatever shape. I don't get it. It's all she wants, more than her toys, she just wants to chew on paper.
Should I give it to her? Can it harm her do you think?
DS loves paper too! Really anything he can crinkle. If I'm opening the mail or something like that I'll let him play with an envelope or something, but I will normally take it away if he's pulled a piece off the coffee table. Did you know receipts dissolve in drool? lol
My DS loves paper too. I have found little paper cuts on his hands! It doesn't even phase him, he just tears it, and crinkles it. Much more entertaining to him then any of his toys. Christmas will be fun with all the wrapping paper.
This really drives me nuts when I am grocery shopping. He goes after my list the whole time, and I usually give in and let him have it. That just results in a wet ripped list thrown on the ground. A few times I have gotten him a paper bag from the bakery so he'd leave my list alone!
You can try giving them wax paper to chew on. It crinkles and doesn't shred like other paper does. It's safe for cooking so why wouldn't it be safe to chew on?
Wax paper sounds like a great idea! LO is the same, especially napkins. She will sit there and give this evil laugh and tear it apart. I think she just likes that she can manipulate it. I don't give her things with ink and I watch her ultra carefully since she could choke.
