Baby Carriers: ERGObaby

Hello All!

I am doing what I can to spread the word where ever possible about the ridiculous amount of counterfeit ERGObaby carriers being circulated pretty much everywhere. I bought one thinking it was authentic and come to find out it wasn't. I filed a claim and am sending it back for a refund. But more importantly than the money, is our babies safety. These fake carriers aren't tested to the rigorous standards that a real ERGO does. SO, if you have purchased one recently and it was not through their home website, I encourage you to contact them, and send a couple of photos through email, which they can evaluate and let you know one way or the other. They also provide a list of retailers that are approved to sell their products. Believe it or not there are more baby stores on the internet than you think that are selling fake ones. ERGO's are more expensive but isn't our babies safety worth an extra fifty bucks?

    Thanks for the info. I have actually heard that the fake Ergos are made in the same factories as the authentic ones, because they have the patterns and material, so they are pretty much the same as the authentic ones. I would always seek out authentic carriers regardless...just what I heard was that fake ones aren't a huge deal.

    Whether you know your carrier is authentic or not, you should always inspect the buckles and seams before the first use and frequently thereafter.

    ETA: I don't support buying or selling counterfeit items. Illegal and wrong. I was just sharing what I had heard, that if you discover you have a fake Ergo, you don't necessarily have to panic and throw it away. It still may be a goodquality, usable item.
