Sleeping sack for 18-mo-old+?

I don't post here often, but need some assistance.

DS is about to outgrow the largest sleep sacks we've been able to find, and not ready to keep a blanket on. Anyone have advice about where to find larger size sleep sacks? Aden + Anais used to sell an XL, but they don't anymore.

  • LO still fits in the Halo XL sleep sack, it's for kids up to 36lbs. We also have the Halo early walker version.

  • We have the Halo 18 month walker sack and it is HUGE.  LO is in the 95%percentile for height and she swims in it.  We got it from amazon (where the reviews all say it runs huge)

  • We gave up on the sleep sack and just have him in fleece footie pajamas.  I wanted to get a larger sleep sack but DH vetoed it.

Yeah.  I don't really understand the point of a sleep sack for a baby over 12 months of age?  The point of them younger than that is to reduce SIDS risk, but after that I guess i figure I just dress my little guy in layers if it is cold in his room (which it is in WI in the winter), and cover him with a blanket.  He's been fine even if the blanket is off.  I wouldn't waste my money on sleep sacks at this point, but that's just me.

My kid rolls all over the crib while she sleeps, she would not keep a blanket on. We keep the house at 75 degrees, but her room is cooler since we use a humidifier in there so we put her in a fleece sleeper & sleep sack.

Yep, same here. The way I see it, I sleep in layers too but I still like a light duvet over me when I sleep. I give her the equivalent with a sleep sack. Body temp drops when you sleep but every kid is different. Some overheat, some feel the cold more. For us, it works great and actually keeps her from climbing out of the crib in the morning since she's less mobile with it on. Double win. :)
