Well how's it going? Any changes? And issues we could help with?
GTKY: what is your favorite time of year? And what are you looking forward to doing with Lo during this time of year?
For us bf is going great other than the jaundice and stupid MIL who thinks I am hurting my son by not giving him water. Ugh! Changes I am get 4 or 5 hours of sleep once a night. But I am still nursing ever hour and a half all day and ever hour right before bed. As far as problems I would love some ideas to get our families off my back about his slight jaundice. I am sick of having it out over something that's not a big issues but I hurts my feeling that my family thinks I am going to do something that could even possibly hurt my child.
Ok ladies on to you gals.
Re: BFing check in
I'm really sorry you're dealing with this. Could your pedi be helpful here? It might help to add a little extra weight to your explanations if you say "Our pediatrician thinks....". Not that you SHOULD have to do this, by any means, but given the attitudes you're dealing with, I say whatever gets them off your back is fair play.
BFing is going great. The green poops have resolved, DS is happy and growing, and I couldn't be more thankful that it is going so well. Last week DS went to daycare 2 days, and I pumped enough to cover his bottles plus some extra each day, so that's a big relief. I'm using only frozen stash milk for his 2 days at daycare - I figured, it's only 3-4 bottles, twice a week, and it's really our only opportunity to rotate the freezer stash.
Speaking of the freezer stash - as I posted earlier, I have had no takers for my offer of donated breastmilk. I found it much more upsetting than I had expected (I realize I was being unreasonable) but your responses really helped, and DH also talked me down. I think I'm back to being at peace with my decision to stay on meds for now. I'll just take over more of the freezer, and DS will eventually be having breastmilk on his Cheerios.
A somewhat funny story I'm sure pumping mamas will relate to - my first day back in the office, I was putting milk away from my last pumping and realized I had brought enough bottles, but I had forgotten covers for them! I had my pump parts and bottles scattered all over the break room counter, trying to find covers in there somewhere, and two of my coworkers were looking at me like I was crazy. One of them suggested using a water bottle, so I ran downstairs to the cafe for a bottle of water, drank it, and poured the milk into it. Five ounces of milk saved from being poured down the drain!
GTKY: Spring is my favorite - I can't wait until the days are longer, I'm feeling happier, and the kids and I can spend more time outside. We get spring fever big time in this house.
BF is going well, I'm getting bored with the pump, and work has been so busy I've been cutting sessions short. I did start to notice a slight decrease in supply so I've made myself sit with the clock for 15 minutes, and all is well again.
I'm still having issues with a lack of support from DH. It is getting harder and harder for me to burp LO, and if I don't get it out- he spits up. No problem for him, there is no sign of discomfort when he does it, so I don't think it is reflux, but DH thinks I am over feeding him. I try to explain that I can't overfeed him at the breast- DS is free to detach at any time, but he still wants to switch to bottles so we can measure his intake (bottles which I will have to wash).
GTKY: Definitely summertime. I love the sunshine, and I was a total pool rat as a kid so I can't wait to go swimming with LO. I found some baby swim classes, but he has to be six months old, and I already feel like I am counting down the days!

Hi ladies. I'm back on the Fenugreek to get the supply back up but now that I'm on that again my supply is doing okay. We're very close to making a year now and I will stop pumping at work in two weeks. I've been bringing my pump to work with me since DD was 7.5 weeks old, so it will definitely be strange when I don't bring it anymore.
GTKY: Definitely spring. Not too hot and humid yet, but lots of pretty flowers etc. and more sunlight during the day.

Gtky. I like fall and spring a lot. Not too hot or cold. I do look forward to swimming once the weather gets warmer.
