Santa poll

I don't know how to do one of those clicky ones, so we'll have to do this the old fashioned way unless someone wants to help me out.

How many of you have taken or plan to take your LOs to see Santa this year? I'm kicking around the idea of taking E, but I'm pretty sure it will just freak her out.

My parents never took us to see Santa when we were younger. There was a old neighbor that would dress up and walk down the street ringing a bell and giving little toys to all of us....so my parents considered that "seeing Santa". We took Gator last year to a local farm that has a Christmas village and an animal barn. The nice thing is they give you a number so you don't stand in line, you can wander until your number is called. We plan on taking her tomorrow.

We tried a free Santa at a Christmas event last weekend and Ella wouldn't let go of me. She is usually very outgoing and has no stranger danger but she would not go to Santa. At one point she screamed no and pushed him away. He even tried to bribe her with a candy cane. Sunday we are going to breakfast with Santa after church and I'm hoping that goes better.

This is DD's third Christmas and we still haven't taken her. We have taken her to see the display at the mall and she waved at Santa, but we haven't done the lap/picture stuff yet. I'm not really concerned with it.

We took LBB the weekend after Thanksgiving. There's a place by my mom's house that has a free Santa in the old Disneyland Bandstand Pavilion. The photographer there will take pictures with your camera.

LBB was not happy with Santa, so we did a family picture.

We took DS on Monday to the mall Santa and had his picture taken. He did great, and was all smiles. He's really outgoing though, and has no fear of strangers whatsoever. Plus I have a few decorative Santas around the house and have made it a point to show him regularly, and make a big deal about how cool Santa is. Maybe that helped? Or we just caught DS in a good day.

We went to a Breakfast with Santa last weekend. G did not freak out and he had a lovely time eating his weight in scrambled eggs and sausage and then sitting on Santa's lap. He looks very relaxed in his photo.

Lily loves strangers (this could cause problems down the road), so I wouldn't have to worry about her freaking out. I'm not willing to stand in a massively long line, though, especially since we're Jewish and Santa will mean nothing to her in the long run. She did meet Santa and Mrs. Claus after the parade we were in a month ago, and she liked being held by them.

DH thinks that it's kinda silly to have E take pictures with a stranger. Having said that we might still do it next week when we go take the Christmas train.

We attempted to last night. DH stood in line waiting for 20 minutes while I chased Nora around the park. We decided the wait wasn't worth seeing him, because Nora could probably care less. We walked around town looking at the businesses live window displays. Oh, and the restaurant/bar I like was having free martini samples. Nora didn't meet Santa, but I got my buzz on. MOTY right here!

I'm planning on it! Will try to go on one of the Fridays I took off. I think he is not going to want to sit with Santa... But maybe b/c he loves beards!

We already did breakfast with Santa. She was ok when he came to.our table and when I walked her to sit on his lap but as soon as she noticed I walked.away she flipped her shiz.

Oh and we'll take the kids to Bass Pro Shops. They have a free Santa photo and crafts and they sell my secret pleasure, cinnamon gummi bears. Yum! Ethan has seen Santa every year he's been alive.

I took him and got the best ever picture of him freaking out crying. It turned out exactly how I expected and maybe it makes me a bad mom, but it's important to me to have his picture each year. Plus, I think it will be so fun to drag out each year and remember!

N cried a little but the picture turned out awfully cute :-) I thought she might cry and I wouldn't have made her sit for a picture if she had a total meltdown. She did better than we expected.

I took R the weekend after Thanksgiving to see Santa at Bass Pro Shops. It was free to see Santa and to visit their winter wonderland thing they had going on. He took pictures with my cousin who's 4 and was ok as long as she was there, then flipped when I wanted one of him and Santa alone. It made for good pictures.

He'll see Santa one more time on Christmas Eve. It's a big tradition in my family that we all get together at a restaurant with the extended family and Santa comes and gives gifts to the kids. It's been going on for 30+ years. I'm sure R will do just as good seeing Santa as he did at Bass Pro.

We were supposed to go tomorrow, but IDK if MH will get it off or not, so we may go Next weekend. There is also a santa at the Legion hall tomorrow... we may go there, my MIL is part of the Legion Auxillary so we usually go to those things when we can.

I'm going to take E to the mall. DH's work did a Christmas Party for kids that we took her to last year, but we missed it this year. I am hoping E will be okay because she is always interested in mustaches. But if she cries, NBD, we will have the pic for her album. I am just waiting for her outfit to come in from Etsy. Hopefully it will get here soon.

I will take DD to see Santa this year. It will probably be the year of the crying on Santa's lap photo, but I think everyone needs one. Last year she slept through the whole thing.

We are planning on taking C this weekend. We'll see how she does. She is generally very outgoing and loves people so I'm not sure if she will be cool or freak out.
