I usually do it every night as part of the bedtime routine (unless we're out really late and rushing bed time). Pedi recommends rubbing the gums with a cloth after every meal HAHA! Yeah not happening...
LO pretty much has a meltdown every time I do it and so it's pretty quick with a bit of toothpaste. Once I give the brush to him he loves putting it in there...
I try, but everytime I get near his mouth with the damn thing he either goes ballistic, or grabs it and tries to brush the dog's teeth. He's got 2 molars and 2 other teeth all coming in right now, so I can't blame him for not wanting to brush.
I remember being a slacker when DD1 was little, but since she has all her teeth in we brush everyday. I just brush DD2's teeth at the same time. DD2 loves having her teeth brushed...DD1 is little miss independent and has to "brush" her's first and then I have to wrestle her down to actually brush them.
Just this week we started doing it as the new night time routine... She gets pj's, milk, teeth brushed, and put to bed with some water in a bottle. Actually tonight she went to bed without the water. : D
I'm so bad about it. At his 1 year appt, the ped told me to do it every night and I sill haven't. I keep meaning to add it as part of our routine, but I forget every night until after he's already in bed.
After 2years TTC and 1yr,2mo waiting for an adoption match, our blessing is here!
"You may not have my eyes or smile, but from that very first moment you had my heart"
I've always made it easy by doing it while she's in the bath. I started by wiping her gums with a washcloth and moved on to a finger brush and now a toothbrush.

I do it every night. She is a little weirdo and LOVES it, she doesn't let us forget lol. The second we take her out of the bath she starts pointing at the sink.
