-DD just cut her 2nd tooth. 1:30am-10am was not a fun time. She cried at 8:30p and 10:30p which isn't normal for her. Then at 1:30 she just started wailing. I checked her mouth and could see the slit where the tooth was trying to come through.

Worse seems to be behind us though. The tylenol wore off long ago and she is acting normal again. Yay!

-I don't know how many of you know about the 5 Love Languages. It's a book that talks about how everyone speaks love differently. Like I see love with act of service, gifts, and quality time. DH sees love with words of affirmation and touch. Those are my two lowest scoring when I take the quiz. (https://www.5lovelanguages.com/profile/)

Well, about once a week for the past month DH has been asking me why I love him. I'm not a words person or a disect person so I'm always like "I just do." I decided that I needed to try to speak his language so I made up Post-it notes of reasons why I love him and put them in random places around the house.

His chair, the door, the johnny jump-up, his juice, etc. I tried to make the reason sort of go with the object. Like the chair had one that said "you're my place to land after a rough day" and the juice said "You make me laugh." (I call him a fruit loop, juice has fruit, kind of a stretch but whatever).

Will have a Post-It on the front door that says "Reason Why I Love You..." so he knows that's going on.

-But then I had to take them all down. My BFF texted me. She is coming down today. She is going through a rough patch with a custody battle and a very controlling ex-b/f. So decided it would not be best to have them up while she is here. One, it is kind of private as he reads them. Two, who needs a good relationship thrown in your face when you are dealing with the end of a crappy one.

We've kind of turned into the place where people come to get away from the crap of their lives. 2nd time for this friend. We had someone else here last weekend. It can be annoying but I love being able to be there for people.

But yea, just felt the need to ramble about my day. Smile

We did 5 Love Languages in our marriage prep class. I am far and above physical touch with a little bit of quality time. DH is acts of service which works nicely with me staying at home because I cook, clean and do laundry.

What a bummer you had to take your notes down. I hope you can do them soon!

That is such a cute idea for your hubby! SO and I are like that too. We have different ways. Although I have never read the book. I think I might steal the post-it note idea!

We are also the ones who have people here in rough times. My best friend's parents are getting divorced. And even though we are older it is still tough for her since her dad has been cheating. For the second time. The first time was when we were in high school and she was the one who found out and was put in the position of hurting her mom by telling her or hurting her by not telling her. So she is going to come down for a few days this weekend to get away from all the family that keeps bombarding her. She is also going through her own relationship problems. (her SO is a compulsive liar) I always feel the need to help people out in tough times.

Steal away! It was an idea I had a couple nights ago and forgot to do it yesterday. I will either do it tomorrow while DH is gone hunting or I'll wait until Tuesday. I have the van Monday and would rather not be with him when he starts to discover the first couple notes.

I tell all our friends that if they just need to get away for the day/couple days, give me a couple hours notice so I can make sure I am home and that I have cookies and beer. lol.

Took the quiz and made SO take it! Bought the book for my kindle too. lol. It seems really interesting and a good way to keep making sure we both know we love each other. Since a lot of the times we fight it's because we feel unappreciated. Thanks for the link!

You are very welcome. DH and I ran into issues back when we were still dating so we read the book and took the quiz then. It helped a lot.

So. Tired. I'm a loner so two weekends in a row of friends in need of a place to go just has worn me out.

Really hoping next weekend we can keep low key. Today is the last day of the extended hunting season. The weekend after next is full of Christmas stuff. Then the weekend after a friend is in the state from Cali. Next weekend is our last chance for quiet for awhile.

Next weekend no one is allowed over. I need it for me.

This weekend.....she really needed it. Even being here, her ex called over 50 times. She didn't answer 49 of those. The one she did answer was awful. He is on a restriction order so that is not allowed. Only suppose to contact about the kid. She's working on trying to get full custody but until then, he is still trying to be abusive and controlling. So she really, really needed to get away for a bit.
