Babies: 9 - 12 Months

XP - Formula boycott in my house

XP from 2/12 board

Allison will not drink formula anymore.  About two weeks ago, I could count on getting 8 oz. in the morning and another 8 - 10 through the day.

Now, if she gets 8 - 10 all day I'm lucky.  I know she is eating, her DCP says she eats solids like crazy, but doesn't she NEED formula still for the vitamins/etc?

I'm giong to call the peditrician today if I have time but I wanted to see what you thought.  I know that around 12 months milk is more for hydration than nutritional value but isn't it a little early to be at that point?  She isn't even 10 months yet...

Re: XP - Formula boycott in my house

  • I have a similiar issue. My DD will drink a bottle of formula from the DCP, but will not take a bottle from me. I'm in the process of weaning her (not really by choice, but my supply has tanked) so she barely gets much milk from me. She eats solids like crazy - but I can't get her to drink any liquids. She doesn't do well with the sippy - just takes a sip here or there, so I am always wondering if she's getting enough nutrients and liquids. What I have been doing is hiding the formula or breast milk in her solids. I will mix in like 2 ounces with her purees and add cereal. So she's eating a little bit (even though she doesn't know it!).

  • I went back to giving him juice from bottle bc sippy cup wasn't workinghe'd take a big sip and spit it out all over himself. Got 2 get fluids
